Lead Pastor // Rev. Gerald R. Feulmer

“Pastor Jerry” is married to Sharon and they have two adult children: Jocelyn and Isaac (and his wife, Peigh).

Jerry brings a unique blend of administration, teaching, nurturing, and a passion for God’s inerrant, infallible Word.  Pastor Jerry’s desire is to follow Christ through the teaching of Scripture, expository preaching, and encouraging others in heartfelt worship.  Spiritual development, building stronger relationships in the Lord, and reaching individuals who do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior are equally important goals for him and the church.

Jerry grew up in rural Shelocta, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a major in Administration of Justice and a minor in Psychology.  Later, he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Finally, Pastor Jerry graduated with a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling.

His previous ministries include that of Associate Pastor and Youth Minister at Hopewell Baptist Church in Jeffersontown, Ky., Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Knoxville, Iowa, and Preaching Pastor of Knoxville Evangelical Church.  Prior to entering the ministry, he worked as a Mental Health-Chemical Dependency Therapist, Foster Care Case Worker and Group Home Counselor.

Sharon received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Education in Counselor Education from The Pennsylvania State University.  She is heavily involved as a home educator and homemaker in addition to leading women’s Bible studies and various children’s ministries at Hunt Baptist.

Pastor Jerry enjoys spending time with Sharon, and his family (when they’re around) and in his free time pursues pickle ball, camping with Sharon, motorcycling with the CMA (and Sharon), hunting, fishing, hiking (with Sharon) and reading.
